Yacuruna & Jungle Spirits Tapestry
Hand-embroidered over many months by Shipibo-Konibo mothers in the Peruvian Amazon, this tapestry is a woven prayer of water and plant medicine. Two opposing quadrants display the precise kené geometry that carries ancestral ícaros.
In the remaining panels, Ronin, the cosmic anaconda, winds through floral vine motifs in one, and the other features frog and butterfly accents amid star-like stitches—each element honouring
life’s cleansing and transformative currents. At its centre, a double-bordered medallion frames a Yacuruna water person, her form emerging from braided vine patterns to embody the spirit of the river.
This beautiful tapestry is rich in culture and metaphor. As a gift to yourself or another, this artwork is shipped directly from the Shipibo family in the Amazon who created it.
