Medicine Frog Purification Tapestry
Hand-embroidered over many months by Shipibo-Konibo mothers in the Peruvian Amazon, this 150 × 150 cm cloth is a woven prayer. Each geometric kené line—officially recognised by Peru as National Cultural Heritage—carries ancestral healing songs (ícaros) in thread, forming energetic pathways that connect every quadrant.
In two opposite corners, medicine frogs stand amid flowering vines, symbols of deep purification and renewal. Their amphibious duality—water and land—invites the clearing of stagnant energy, jump-starting vitality and guiding a diagonal flow of cleansing currents straight to the heart of the design. The central four-lobe medallion then gathers that purified energy, weaving it through stylized floral-kené patterns to complete the cycle of release and restoration.
This beautiful tapestry is rich in culture and metaphor. As a gift to yourself or another, this artwork is shipped directly from the Shipibo family in the Amazon who created it.
